Collaboration with expert panels leads to in-depth knowledge, practical application, and joint guidelines

Collaboration with interdisciplinary networks is an essential foundation for our targeted actions. Together with experts from academia, business, sports, and politics, we analyze challenges and future issues and develop innovative solutions. We rely on scientific perspectives and specialized expertise to make informed decisions and translate knowledge into concrete action. Our research focuses range from climate adaptation, innovative snow management, and the further development of Nordic sports to the promotion of biodiversity in winter sports regions. As early as 1985, SIS and DSV founded the Advisory Board for the Environment and Sustainable Ski Sports Development—a body that remains unique in elite sports to this day—which has since been supplemented by advisory boards for medicine and law. Other expert committees, such as the Climate.Sports.Snow Expert Forum and the Board of Trustees for Alpine Safety, facilitate dialogue and initiate model projects.

Description

In 1987, we became the first German sports federation to establish an advisory board for the environment and sustainable development in skiing. Together with the Advisory Board
for Medicine and Health and the Advisory Board for Law and Safety, these bodies now cover key pillars of the federation’s development. With their independent members from academia, business, and civil society, they provide critical and constructive input into our work and enrich it with valuable perspectives.
