Transformative Education Through Outdoor Sports: The ticket2nature project offers extracurricular learning environments for children and teens and teaches aspects of education for sustainable development in a playful way.

Project Description

In specially designed summer and winter camps lasting several days, school classes can gain experience in sports, nature, and group activities, and engage deeply with the impact of their actions on their environment. In the spirit of transformative education, the project takes a holistic approach and fosters an understanding of the economic, ecological, and social relationships between people, their activities, and the demands of nature conservation and environmental protection. The project is based on the belief that even simple experiences in nature can inspire more sustainable behavior by teaching children the value of nature and providing them with practical knowledge about the importance of natural resources.

Objective

To work with young people to develop a personal connection to nature, their homeland, and their culture, and to introduce examples of healthy lifestyles and sustainable leisure activities. Playing and being active in nature raises awareness of its beauty and richness while also promoting health and fostering motor and intellectual development. Students with years of training serve as team leaders to create an engaging learning environment, while transformative research ensures a scientific foundation and ongoing evaluation of the project. By providing clothing and equipment, as well as small financial contributions, all children from diverse backgrounds are given access to nature experiences.

Attention club coaches, school principals, teachers, and 6th- or 7th-grade students: Do you want to get out into nature and be active? ticket2nature offers your class the opportunity to spend a week in the summer or winter being active outdoors.
